Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

The selection process for SBI Probationary Officers consists of three stages.

  1. Phase I – Online Preliminary Examination
  2. Phase II – Online Main Examination (Objective + Descriptive Test)
  3. Phase III – Psychometric Test, Group Exercise, and Personal Interview

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are not included in the final merit list. Final selection is based on the marks secured in the Main Examination and Phase III after normalization, as per SBI rules.

The Descriptive Test will be conducted immediately after the Objective Test, and candidates must type their answers on the computer.


State Bank of India will conduct Pre-Examination Training (PET) in online mode for eligible SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD candidates who selected this option while submitting their online application.
